Review of Chanel
Product range. Iconic lapel-free tweed jackets, two-tone slingback pumps, faux pearls, and, of course, boy bags — are among all-time must-have pieces.
Chic. The pieces by Chanel are a good investment. They show no signs of falling out of fashion and tend to hold their value for years. So, when you put them on a decade later you will look just as classy as today.
Pricing. The price point is somewhere between expensive and exorbitant: to get your hands on the classic Chanel flap bag you'll have to spend a small fortune.
Corporate history highlights. As unbelievable as it may sound, Chanel disregarded the conventions of her time and revolutionized the fashion industry of the 1920s. Coco decided to liberate women from confining corsets and ruched dresses drawing her inspiration from menswear styles. She succeeded in making luxury and comfort go hand-in-hand when she pioneered dress shirts, pajamas, and understated hats among other novelties. Karl Lagerfeld has been the head designer and creative director of Chanel since 1983 and has been responsible for the brand's endless reinvention.
Trivia. After the death of Arthur 'Boy' Capel, Chanel's muse and lover, she was so depressed as to make black clothes only, for five years in a row.
